I also see exactly the same behavior with Oneiric's Compiz and Radeon HD 3200 (AMD 780G chipset's integrated graphics). Compiz is a lot slower/laggier than it was in 11.04. Testing with glxgears (leaving the glxgears window in its default size) on latest Ubuntu 11.10: Compiz is at around 33-42
