provides. With current arts spec file and kdebase spec file, it's logical that arts obsoletes kdebase. PS: please post with Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] :) -- Olivier Blin

Re: [Cooker] Failed new install of Cooker - KDE problems

2003-08-01 Thread Olivier Blin
I just re-installed a fresh Cooker from today and found that KDE did not install. When I tried to urpmi kdebase it fails about dependencies on other kde packages. It's probably a problem with arts, see the thread Big mess with arts obsoletes ... -- Olivier Blin

kdebase3 != kdebase Hum ? arts should obsoletes all packages that provide kdebase3, no ? kdebase provides kdebase3 and rpm 4.2 also obsoletes virtual provides, so it's normal that rpm obsoletes kdebase package. Am I right ? -- Olivier Blin

/vendor_perl/5.8.0/urpm.pm Bandwith limit is almost here, it would be quite esay to add one or two more lines of code in urpm.pm to handle a limit_rate: xxx option in urpmi.cfg -- Olivier Blin

Re: [Cooker] Do we still force fsck on bad shutdown with rootfs asext3?

2003-08-03 Thread Olivier Blin
Yes, but as the subject says, this is with ext3, which happens to be the default filesystem, so by default newbies see this ... BTW, in 9.2 beta 1, ext2 was the default filesystem, we had better switch back to ext3 for next beta ;-) -- Olivier Blin

$rpm -qRp kdebase-3.1.3-4mdk.i586.rpm |grep kdm kdm kdebase-kdm-config-file BTW, why does kdebase require kdm ? We can also use gdm or mdkkdm to log in KDE. IMHO, gdm, kdm and mdkkdm should provide something like display-manager, then kdebase would require display-manager. -- Olivier Blin

2003-08-04 Thread Olivier Blin
, There is no package named termcap-devel, but there is one that provides termcap-devel, it's libtermcap2-devel. You can find such things with urpmf --provides. $ urpmf --provides termcap-devel libtermcap2-devel:libtermcap-devel[== 2.0.8-35mdk] libtermcap2-devel:termcap-devel[== 2.0.8-35mdk] -- Olivier Blin
