It could be a major security problem to allow root login by ssh.
In /etc/ssh/sshd_config, I can see this: #PermitRootLogin yes.
Perhaps would it be better to put PermitRootLogin no instead.

I can confirm that cdrecord works fine. When I perform the above
command it works fine.
cdrecord has perhaps a new output format, that could explain why xcdroast and k3b fail
to scan bus.
You should check cdrecord changelog to find if some changes like this were done

I just re-installed a fresh Cooker from today and found that KDE did not
install. When I tried to urpmi kdebase it fails about dependencies on
