Hallo,
does anybody out there has any experiences with enlightenment 16.6 or 17 on mandrake
9.1?
Or does someone know some special tips?
Because I use Enlightenment always I don't want to replace my existing one (16.5) with
one
that doesn't work...
Thanks,
Friedrich Preuss
e17 is as different from e16 as kde1 was from kde2, maybe even more.
I knew, I allready tried it on an test-system.
It would surprise me if you can install them next to eachother
So I will again try it on my second system...
ps. some rpms for e17 (which don't work for me)

Hallo,
I tried to install the e17 rpms from http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~lenny/e/RPMS/
So far so good..but e doesn't start, i figured out that the efsd couldn't connect to
fam,
but I started xinetd and enabled fam for it ... the same on 2 different 9.1 systems
here.
I would say it's either

Fam runs through xinetd doesn't it? So it wouldn't be running unless there
were a connection to it.
Yes...so it is, I solved this problem a bit later...there was a failure in the
fam-configuration of xinetd...i don't

The next point is even when I started fam, I can't find it by: ps -e | grep fam

So possibly fam doesn't work?
is portmap service enabled? Fam requires it.

Hallo,
I thought much about testing the 2.6 kernel on my 9.1 install...
I read in this list, some weeks ago, something about changing in modutils
(or similar), so my question is:
When I want to play a bit with 2.6, what do I need else to get it

on 9.1 it will be hard :(
better get/ wait for mdk-9.2
on 9.1 you have o update pretty core stuff which might break your
insallation
on 9.2 might be just an updated module-init-tools
(older version is included, but it's too old i think )

Hi Buchan,
My only complaint is that it throws away exif data (AFAIK). Hopefully
this has been fixed in 1.3?

Hallo to everyone,
today I updated from 2.4.22-9mm to 2.4.22-23 on my 9.1-system.
Everything works fine except some things with the cryptoapi while compiling
first time, changed some settings, compiled, installed, bootet...everything
works.
As far
I've just discovered that e17 is available on cooker.
I tried it and it segfaults because of libevas1.
Am i alone in this case ?
Thanks.
I tried a while ago on my old 9.1 and get it working, but with many
errors, hangs and so on...it was unusable.
But I don't know if it was just a problem of
