*Role:*

Embedded SQA Tester – 8+ month contract located in Richardson



*Skills:*

Test experience with *commercial software* is required.

*Embedded SW Testing* Experience

Experience with testing embedded software such as *Handheld units.*

*Desktop Testing* Experience

Testing of *Windows Applications & configuration testing* in a *Windows
Environment* necessary

Testing of *Macintosh Applications & configuration testing* in a *Macintosh
Environment* necessary



*Preferred skills:*

Desired, but not required, programming experience in C/C++, Python or Perl
scripting, testing of Application Programming Interfaces, etc.

Desired, but not required, experience in working with Outsourced
resources/vendors



*Duties:*

Testing and QA

Assist with the development of test processes, design/implement test tools,
write/maintain manual and automated test suites, assist with test planning
and test case design (including both black-box and white-box test
methodologies).

Create and execute test cases defined in the test strategy for a
product/project.

Provide periodic status reports on progress in assigned test areas.

Effectively communicate issues that are discovered while testing.  This
includes, but is not limited to, logging issues into a defect tracking
database.

Effectively discuss and execute the testing strategy defined for the
project/product.

Ability to make quick adjustments in focus and direction as required for the
successful completion of a project.

Ability to multitask testing activities on multiple projects or products.

Be able to effectively work with 3rd party partners and Test Vendors in a
multi-location environment.

Individual must have the drive to implement all of the above without daily
guidance from the management group.  The individual must have strong
personal initiative and the will to drive the projects to completion.
