Thank you very much Samuel, I really didn’t know about Debian Boot. I asked on
the Debian User list instead, and a few very nice people kindly sent me
suggestions which finally allowed me to finish the installation.
I’d like to apologise once more for not knowing about the impressive number
not on my setup. the window only showst just "window" maybe i missed some
packages. firefox works and qt apps works...

Actually pulseaudio shouldn't be posing a problem in that use case

Well, lightdm and Mate started normally when I rebooted the machine about a day
later. ODD!
Next time something like that hapens I will try systemctl restart lightdm of
course as root.
