I did with the only difference that I used --buildpkg sid.
Xorg 7.1.1 does not start with fglrx 8.29.6 as described in my
Debian-shipped fglrx-driver 8.28.8-2 appeared in amd64 repositories.
It woks fine with Xorg 7.1.1
Still waiting for a working version 8.29.6 of fglrx.
