debugging xchat with gdb

Greetings earthlings. My xchat crashes randomly when minimized - meaning i can't pinpoint why it crashes. I'm still using gnome. I've tried running it from a terminal but it never crashes when i do so (Murphy loves me). So i tried with gdb, makes sense huh? 1. gdb (gdb) xchat Undefined command:
