Hi,
This has been fixed upstream and will appear in release 1.11.0 (when that's
released). I'm not sure whether Debian will be able to ship that version in
lenny; if not, the source tarball will have to be repacked for the time
being.

I had a similar problem until yesterday.
Amarok used 100% CPU, and was itself really slow in responding to input.
Thanks to the fine Linux scheduler the rest of the system responded as
normal.

This has been fixed in version 2.6.25-3 of linux-image-2.6.25-2-ixp4xx
