Hello,
Well it's 2012 and it still uses CAP_NET_ADMIN, yoohoo, that's never
gonna be fixed.
Here's some background from OpenVZ folks (which is, in turn _part_ of
Debian now):

and here's the shorter fix:

Thanks for the bug report and patch, I'm also upstream on this, so I can get it
in there. One question: I noticed that epsilon is 1e-9 as a float. We're in
the process of porting all Pd libraries to support a 64-bit t_float and
t_sample. The 'vbap' library is not there yet, but we hope to

I've compiled that patch with debian kernel (from linux-source-3.1)
and it works for me too.

This looks like this upstream bug, fixed in 1.7:
http://mercurial.selenic.com/bts/issue2364
FWIW the fix (http://selenic.com/hg/rev/545ec1775021 - excluding
the test update) applies cleanly on top of 1.6.4.

Dear Joey,
I’ve uploaded Roger’s patch as NMU, versioned as 1.5-6.2, to
the archive, since it’s a release critical bug, there has been
no maintainer activity for way more than a week, etc. per the
new 0-day rules.
I’ve tested sysklogd before and after the /run transition.
