Similar issue on system that have already an Ubuntu system installed. Each time
I try to boot on an USB key with Debian 11 Iso, I get the grub text prompt
straight, nothing else !
If I zap all Ubuntu OS partitions on the existing HD in computer, then the
Debian USB key boots normally ;)

I believe /tmp is a good default. Users who want a more permanent
location can already have that, e.g.:

backtrace. Could you try with the latest version and see if you can
