I don't have any *.pid in /etc/.
Just simply try to run /usr/sbin/cron and you'll end up with
/var/run/crond.pid instead of /var/run/cron.pid.

ekg2 leaves experimental.
I'm using ekg2 regularly for some days now, and I think it's stable enough
to start thinking about migration to normal archive, thus splitting it
seems to be have more sense now.

from locale setting while it's launched.
So by default on my box it adds reports in Polish cause that's what I use
