I just tested `playitslowly` on a Debian 11/Bullseye box & it works for me. It worked for me in (Debian) `testing` ~until I filed the Ubuntu bug report (or a few days before hand; Nov-2021) Yes loads of messages appear if you run it at terminal; but it starts and runs on Debian Bullseye, Ubuntu

I just noticed; if I enter a search term, the menu instantly drops down to just above the panel. Erasing the entered text so search field is blank doesn't return the menu up on screen (to ~5.5cm above panel), but it stays low touching bottom panel. So touching menu on panel bottom of my portrait
