Thanks for that, it makes sense. I setup as suggested with uswsusp installed and ran hibernate-ram and it suspended without a problem. The resume still has the black screen. I tried to ctrl-alt-del at this point with the black screen and it would seem to reboot but the screen did not start

Bug#419352: Cannot select Country using keyboard with installgui

Package: rootskel-gtk (I think - sorry I am not sure what package the installer uses) Version: unknown Installation from CD using the installgui option. When trying to select country in the country selection window pressing return over (for example) Europe will activate the continue button.
