This seems to happen any time there is an aspell dictionary installed with openoffice. I have aspell dictionaries for English/Great Britain and Russian/Russia installed. So, I have 4 entries in the spellcheck dialog: English/Great Britain en_GB Russian/Russia ru_RU If I remove the aspell
