The new repo / checkpointing feature in Sigil 1.2 depends on the Python 3
dulwich module, packaged in Debian as python3-dulwich -- preferably 0.19.x
as detailed in Sigil's docs/Building_on_Linux.md. Fortunately, we have

The build dependencies on libqt5svg5-dev and libqt5xmlpatterns5-dev
are no longer necessary as of Sigil 0.9.16 and can safely be dropped.
The corresponding search and link stanzas have been removed upstream

Bernd's package - is that correct?
There are two issues I can see:
- your CFLAGS don't seem to include -Wno-deprecated-declarations,
without which the build will fail because GCC will treat the warnings as
errors. Now,

Ran into the same issue, so I packaged open-vm-tools-9.4.0-1280544 from
upstream based on the sid package for 9.2.3. Works just fine for me in
Workstation 10.0.1 with linux-image-3.12-1-amd64. Did *not* test Shared
Folders (i.e. vmhgfs) which I don't care about since it has sucked
Forgot to mention - still doesn't build with GCC 4.8 (unexpected struct
size issues galore.)
