I have done some more investigation, comparing to a freshly installed
VM, and see this difference in the debug logs of gdm-wayland-session,
which seems to be what misbehaves in my previous logs.

Just a heads up that, after some uptime and an utimely reboot, I am now
on 6.4.0-3, which no longer seems to exhibit the issue from earlier 6.x

The 6.1.0 Changelog had some notes about a gnarly bug in the NFS bug
having been fixed, so I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, the
problem reported here is still present. It has made the machine quite
unstable, but I was able to retrieve logs of

There is a dual problem to this bug: the configuration interface *only*
listens on IPv6. I think this is the same problem. I've seen this on two
different machines.

In at least one instance of the problem, the machine (HP Proliant
Microserver n54L) does not have any Bluetooth hardware (or at least none
that shows in either lspci or lsusb output).
What kernel from sid would you suggest? I suppose I'll have to unpin my
sysvinit for the tests too?

I can boot the other amd64 laptop on a 2.6 kernel for inspection, but
unfortunately, the i686 laptot only has 3.x kernels, and all stall at
the same point.

When using the nvidia-glx driver on a machine which xserver-xorg supports
nouveau, Xorg tries to probe all the non-proprietary drivers that have been
built-in (and provided by xserver-xorg-video-all). This includes, in this

all.

Linux kernel source. Two of them include patches and configuration
option, and the last one (web100-mipl) is a combination of both (only
metadata and includes in defines).

package linux-headers-2.6-FEATURESET. This could be fixed similarly to
what is presented before.

A quick 'n' dirty workaround until the above patch is applied is to
symlink empty_cursor.xbm to /, where ev_calibrate seems to be looking
for it.
$ sudo ln -s /usr/share/xf86-input-evtouch/empty_cursor.xbm /empty_cursor.xbm
