Package: postgresql-8.1-postgis
Version: 1.1.3-1
Severity: minor
An utility, called mktemplate_gis, was included in previous unofficial releases
of postgis. It can be
useful, especially for new users, because it makes a template with GIS
functions in the database, and
saves the user to do it

installed it today and once I added a sane path_map it worked fine and
in a similar way to apt-proxy.

Hi all.
The bug is still there, and a new package has not been uploaded. Does
anybody have an idea of when will it be fixed?
All the best.

I'd be grateful if you could package it.
Thanks.

I'm available for testing an updated experimental package, if necessary.

Package: gdal
Severity: normal
libbgdal1-grass is missing in the new package. This is important,
because the new version includes the support for grass vectors (useful
e.g. to display them in mapserver applications).

Package: libgdal1-grass
Version: 1.2.6-1
Severity: important
New upstream version (1.3.1) is available since long. It is important
to package it because it includes support for grass vectors (eg, for
direct use with mapserver).
-- System Information:
Debian Release: testing/unstable
APT
is heavily
overcautious and outdated.
So my suggestion to include it in Debian stands valid.

If possible, it would be good to include direct sdbc postgresql driver
in the package, saving the user a potentially confusing proc3edure for
installing it.
Instructions and driver at:

I believe this info is incorrect, as most of the page: we're using the driver
daily since more than 1 yr, and never found any problem.

Package: libpostgis1-pg74
Version: 1.0.0
Tha program shp2pgsql from libpostgis1-pg74 does not work properly (it fails
to uploas some shapes). This has apparently been resolved upstream (in
Version 1.0.1), so probably better to upgrade the package.
All the best.
