OTOH, running it from command-line results in:
Timed out: killed the child process
More specifically, it is sitting on waitpid() call (line 341).
Could this be related to #639658 ?

There's a little problem with that, because with this change:

There must be some confusion here, maybe I missed some detail but
AFAICT python-fuse doesn't require fuse-utils, any FUSE-compliant
implementation will do.
Please would you instead turn that Dependency to:
Depends: fuse [linux-any] | fuse4bsd [kfreebsd-any]
?
Thanks!

In that case, please go ahead. (Preferably sooner rather than later, as
both libraries appear to be in the d-i initrd).

get pulled in to the

I just tried. The resulting file lists are identical.
I guess with the new kfreebsd-8 it'd be possible to enable additional
modules, but this would require changes in kfreebsd-kernel-di-*
source.

This patch adds support for GNU/kFreeBSD to aircrack-ng.
I've verified that at least airodump-ng works (but I didn't break into^W^W
audit security of any of my neighbours'
adjustments).

Btw, if you can, please also consider this change in addition to the
ones proposed.
* Add a few missing files in header package to make it possible to
build external modules. (Closes: #630509)
Thanks!
