Severity: normal
This bug (failure to notify the user about inability to save) actually
happens for the wider category of saving just about anything in
non-writable directories.

Providing a -v option to strace doesn't affect argument string

You were spot-on, unchecking it does the job!

/any/ vorbis file I could get my hands on. And yes,
ogg123 plays them fine.
As far as sample streams go, this one exhibits the anomaly too, although
not in a white-noisey manner, but noisey nevertheless:

[2] dosbox-0.72/src/gui/sdl_mapper.cpp (MapSDLCode, GetKeyCode)
Perhaps dosbox started getting proper keysyms because of recent xorg

Have fun!
Thanks a lot, works like a charm!

1. An interesting observation still holds: if you change the call
to vsnprintf to snprintf while dropping the varargs, and step through
the call chain, the first parameter to snprintf will be intact,
whereas the post-mortem stack unwind will show its sickly nature...

The Common Lisp syntax highlighting item appears to be wrongfully placed
in the 'scripts' category.
Common Lisp is a standartised general purpose programming language,
which lands it straight into the 'sources' category, I think.
