Seems to be related to shortcuts.
I use Ctrl+Alt+Up and Ctrl+Alt+Down to switch desktops.
Now I disabled this default setting via dconf-editor.
When I now got to terminal and press Ctrl+Alt+Up an 'A' is written and on

When I switch desktop a 'A' is typed.
Open terminal on 1st desktop and another application on 2nd desktop
Switch between desktops and sometimes a 'A' is typed to the terminal. Or if I'm
using tail I see '^[[1;7A'
Using gnome on
wicd was already installed. But no configured to automatically connect
to this network.
After setting this option it is working like I would expect it.
Maybe this option should be enabled by default.
