the chromium-shell binary is not supposed to be installed in /usr/bin
but rather /usr/lib/chromium. debian/chromium-shell.install pushes it
into /usr/bin at the moment.

CFLAGS variable in the Makefile. Overriding CFLAGS on the make command
line would yield the result you're reporting.

Instead of disabling FFI it might be possible to fall back to libffi, as is
done for some other architectures (e.g. ARM).

VM release should have all your plugins
in it. I adapted them to the unix build structure. That would mean Scratch does
not need to bundle the plugins anymore. It should also help with the ARM
version of the OLPC laptops.

If you have a SocketPlugin patch to make the old primitives work better, please
submit it upstream (Squeak's vm-dev list). This would allow to use old Squeak
images unchanged.
