This isn't an actual bug (not in gnome-shell, the kernel or any other

5500) with *also* another 'normal' PS/2 keyboard attached.

Since the upgrade to Gnome-Shell 3.8 landed in testing, a kill -9 no
longer fixes the problem, the screen will stay blank,with just the mouse
pointer after the kill.
A reboot is required to get things running smoothly again.

Some extra details.
I tried removing all evolution folders and start fresh, I found that
evolution crashes when trying to connect to the Exchange server, as this
time it was in the setup wizard.
The server is currently an Exchange 2007 installation (to be upgraded to
2010 soon).

This problem probably occurs when trying to run nfcapd as a non-root
user from the rc script. It is then unable to write a pidfile (due to
permissions on /var/run) and the rc script is unable to perform a
clean shutdown.
