Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name    : authenticator
  Version         : 4.1.6
  Upstream Author : Bilal Elmoussaoui
* URL             : https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Authenticator
* License         : GPL
  Programming Lang: Rust
  Description     : Generate Two-Factor Codes

This is the successor of gnome-authenticator (packaged in Debian) by the
same author but rewritten in Rust. Hence i filed wnpp instead of "new
upstream version".

Looking at

   https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Authenticator/-/blob/master/Cargo.toml

we're currently lacking zbar and a few other crates which would need to
go in first.

As authenticator is pretty generic maybe gw-authenticator (as it's part
of /GNOME/World) would be an appropriate executable name? Otherwise
replacing gnome-authenticator would likely work too.

I don't have immediate plans to work on it but would join a packaging
effort as there's more rust based GNOME related projects which would be
great to have.

Cheers,
