Dear Maintainer, After looking through a few directories gdk-pixbuf-thumbnailer sucks up a lot of memory. The directories I was looking at are in the co-existing Windows XP SP3 Home Edition installation. I don't know which, or which types of files, could be triggering this behaviour. This is on a "small" machine, an msi U120 notebook/netbook with 1GB memory hardwired (i.e. can't be increased), so, a process using this much memory causes everything to bog down. The memory usage of this process varies over time and getting a screen shot at the maximum usage was impossible. But, 540MiB is still well up there. Since reportbug doesn't allow for attachments I've placed the screen shot at: http://chrisw.freeshell.org/caja/Screenshot%20at%202023-05-10%2014-00-27.png top shows 1GiB of virtual memory for gdk-pixbuf-thumbnailer and if all that is in actual use, resident or swap, then it is that much worse. I turned off thumbnails in caja and rebooted and the process and problem were gone.
