Package: r-cran-gfonts Version: 0.2.0-2 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: debianb...@schirmeier.com
Dear Maintainer, the r-cran-gfonts package installs a variant of Open Sans (in /usr/share/fonts/truetype/gfonts/open-sans) that only contains a subset of the glyphs that come with the fonts-open-sans package. However, on my system the inferior Open Sans variant from r-cran-gfonts seems to take precedence over the one from fonts-open-sans, which leads to missing glyphs in e.g. LibreOffice. The only obvious solution to get access to all Open Sans glyphs is to remove r-cran-gfonts completely and only keep fonts-open-sans. How to reproduce: - Install fonts-open-sans. - Create LibreOffice Impress presentation with an Open Sans textbox containing e.g. the "approximately equal sign" (≈) character. Close LibreOffice. - Install r-cran-gfonts. - Reopen the presentation file. Outcome: - LibreOffice shows a "missing glyph" box instead of the expected ≈ character. Expected: - LibreOffice should show the ≈ character. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.5.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/20 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages r-cran-gfonts depends on: ii r-base-core [r-api-4.0] 4.3.1-4 ii r-cran-crayon 1.5.2-1 ii r-cran-crul 1.4.0+dfsg-1 ii r-cran-glue 1.6.2-1 ii r-cran-htmltools 0.5.6-1 ii r-cran-jsonlite 1.8.7+dfsg-1 ii r-cran-shiny 1.7.5.1+dfsg-1 Versions of packages r-cran-gfonts recommends: ii r-cran-covr 3.6.3+dfsg-1 ii r-cran-knitr 1.44+dfsg-1 ii r-cran-rmarkdown 2.25+dfsg-1 ii r-cran-testthat 3.2.0-1 ii r-cran-vcr 1.2.2+dfsg-1 r-cran-gfonts suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
