Package: kpartx-udeb Version: 0.9.4-3+deb12u1 Severity: important Tags: d-i X-Debbugs-Cc: jarl.gullb...@algiz.nu
Dear Maintainer, kpartx-udeb does not include any of the udev rules that come with the standard package, resulting in device nodes under /dev/mapper not being created for partitions of multipath devices. This has a knock-on effect of breaking partman-multipath, resulting in an inability to install Debian on a multipath device. In testing, adding the following files from the full package along with other related udev files from the other packages resolved the issue: /lib/udev/rules.d/56-dm-parts.rules (as 11-dm-parts.rules) /lib/udev/rules.d/60-kpartx.rules (as 56-kpartx.rules) /lib/udev/kpartx_id kpartx-udeb is unfortunately only part of the issue, and dmsetup-udeb is affected as well. For the above to function, /lib/udev/rules.d/55-dm.rules from dmsetup must also be installed. I've reported that issue to dmsetup-udeb as well. -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.4 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-16-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages dmsetup-udeb depends on: ii libc6-udeb 2.36-9+deb12u3 ii libdevmapper1.02.1-udeb 2:1.02.185-2 kpartx-udeb recommends no packages. kpartx-udeb suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
