i also stumbled over this apache ldap feature. require valid-user only works
if you set AuthzLDAPAuthoritative off (found in
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_authnz_ldap.html.en#reqvaliduser).
So my solutions looks as follows:
Directory /xxx
AuthName Password
Package: apache2.2-common
Version: 2.2.3-3
Severity: important
In short: config syntax for LDAP authorization changed a LOT, and is
not well described anywhere. While updating from apache 2.0, the user
should be warned about necessary configuration changes.
