Package: dibbler-server
Version: 0.4.2.dfsg-2
Severity: important

I'm running Debian in VMWare server on a Win2K machine for testing purposes.
We have some DHCPv6 clients that we are testing, and I tried reproducing
one bug using dibbler. Previously, wide-dhcpv6-server had worked fine for
this job. However, dibbler-server ignores all DHCPv6 solicit messages, and
prints "Option type 8 invalid" in the log.

This seems very weird, since RFC3315 describes option type 8 (elapsed time)
and says it should be part of all DHCPv6 messages. Thus, if dibbler would
reject all packets with option 8, it would have to ignore all solicit messages,
which I find hard to believe. There might be some problem with running it on
VMWare, I guess.
