I also suffered from random crashes, and reported the back trace here http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/6088 Only non-default plugin in use is OTR. Not crashed since i disabled Mail Notifications. Maybe helpful / related, or something different. Worth a try though. :) (Running Lenny amd64).
