could you get a backtrace again with G_DEBUG=fatal_warnings and the
debug symbols of libc6, glib, gstreamer, gst-plugins-base and
gst-plugins-good installed?
Also please test if this still happens with gst-plugins-good 0.10.14.2-1

I tested it more and it seems that it works when the sounds is set to
No Sounds or ALSA. It crashes or freezes when the sounds is set to
Automatic.

What's the output of gconftool -R /system/gstreamer/0.10/default?
Also, could you try the version of pidgin from experimental?

I also suffered from random crashes, and reported the back trace here
http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/6088
Only non-default plugin in use is OTR. Not crashed since i disabled
Mail Notifications. Maybe helpful / related, or something different.
Worth a try though. :)
