You need to do some research on your own. I don't have time to compile and
install qgis. Try do do some debugging and drop me a line if it seems to be
PyQwt related.

I'm having trouble with python-qwt5-qt4: it makes my self-compiled qgis
crash. I quess it the same bug as above. I'm trying to reinstall it, but
aptitude says it is not available in testing.
