Could you check the /usr/share/gnome-video-effects/ directory as
suggested by Luciana ?
Moreover a new version is now available in Wheezy, could you check if
this problem still occurs ? If not, could you try to purge and reinstall
the package ?

Can you check your directory /usr/share/gnome-video-effects/ and tell me
the content of it? My guess is that somehow you ended up with two files
of each effect. You can open them to check their description and name.
