I confirm the bud is fixed.
I had to set back to default the configuration of
org.gnome.desktop.default-applications.terminal exec.
Overwise the terminal would not even open.
(And still, default seems really the same as the chosen value : gnome-terminal)

You guys may have resolved it to your satisfaction, but I've still got
the bug. I'm running Wheezy and it is fully upgraded. I open nautilus to
$HOME/Documents (for example) and the terminal opens to $HOME.
