I managed to use lio_node to successfully remove the lun: # lio_node --dellun iqn.2003-01.org.linux-iscsi.server01.x8664:sn.083f7c9e8233 1 0 Successfully deleted iSCSI Target Logical Unit I then was able to remove /backstores/fileio/test using targetcli: / cd /backstores/fileio/
