Package: mate-terminal Version: 1.14.1-1 Followup-For: Bug #836239 I suppose it is the same bug I have hit, but I thought I should report it anyway:
I see mate-terminal is always using what it calls "system colors" (white letters which are damn hard to read on transparent background), and when I uncheck the corresponding box, it crashes. I also tried to unset transparency, but that led to the same immediate crash -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.7.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages mate-terminal depends on: ii gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.21.4-2 ii libatk1.0-0 2.21.90-2 ii libc6 2.24-2 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.14.6-1+b1 ii libcairo2 1.14.6-1+b1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.35.5-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.49.6-1 ii libgnutls30 3.5.4-2 ii libgtk-3-0 3.21.5-3 ii libice6 2:1.0.9-1+b1 ii libmate-desktop-2-17 1.14.1-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.40.2-1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.40.2-1 ii libsm6 2:1.2.2-1+b1 ii libstartup-notification0 0.12-4 ii libvte-2.91-0 0.45.90-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.3-1 ii mate-desktop-common 1.14.1-1 ii mate-terminal-common 1.14.1-1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-2+b1 mate-terminal recommends no packages. mate-terminal suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
