Upstream recommends against using MPI [1], so we should probably stick to that.
You can always use meshio [2] to convert between mesh formats.

MED support has been disabled in latest build.
This is very annoying.
Could we consider restore it?
I understand that it implies to rebuild with MPI support
since MED is compiled with MPI support.
