Package: x2goserver-x2goagent
Version: 4.1.0.3-5
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: d...@ruant.ie

Dear Maintainer,

This is my first bug report to Debian so I’m hoping it’s useful. Please
let me know if there are issues (e.g., missing necessary details) with
it or how I might otherwise improve this report.

   * What led up to the situation?

I’ve been successfully using X2Go to run graphical applications on my
home Debian server for the past six months. I’ve never needed to know
much about how X2Go works as everything “just works” (like everything
else on Debian stable). About a month ago, I needed to use newer
software libraries so I changed my sources to use `testing` instead of
`stable`.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

Since upgrading to `testing`, when I suspend a session from the client,
the X2Go session stays running on the server (as you’d expect) but the
`session.log` (e.g,
`/tmp/.x2go-ant/C-ant-55-1607301555_stDLXDE_dp32/session.log` has the
following line appended to it:

nxagentPendingEvents: Returning error with display down.

I found that this line was being appended to the log file at the rate of
23786/second! Connecting via SSH and running the `fuser` utility shows
that the process writing to is `x2goagent` (which is provided by the
`x2goserver-x2goagent` Debian package).

The session log file continues to grow and the /tmp filesystem
completely fill up (I’m now going to create a separate filesystem but
currently my /tmp is on my root filesystem and lots of services break
when this runs out of space).

After re-connecting, some sort of internal house-keeping code kicks in and
the size of the log file drops back to a much smaller size.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

I suppose that I’d expect the server agent’s internal house-keeping to
prevent this log file from growing too large when a session is suspended
and there is no active display.
