Confirmed this is a bug, I just installed bullseye and noticed Tracker syslog noise. Specifically the system user is: "Debian-gdm" (login screen) Because services are "WantedBy=default.target" ...so symlinked from: /etc/systemd/user/default.target.wants/ The fix is to modify one line in both:

I've seen the same with lightdm. Prevent it from starting checking for uid < 500 or 1000 (look it up please). And also inside the service files (3 or older, both), there's a reference to: # Don't restart after tracker daemon -k (aka tracker-control -k) there's no such tracker-control binary
