Package: libinput-bin Version: 1.16.4-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Starting with libinput 1.9.0, the trackpoint on Thinkpad T470 is barely usable: it is too sensitive and seems impossible to fine-tune using hw settings or libinput accel speed setting. A fix is to add a quirk with multiplier set to 0.4, same as for T480: [Lenovo T470 Trackpoint] MatchName=*TPPS/2 IBM TrackPoint MatchDMIModalias=dmi:*svnLENOVO:*:pvrThinkPadT470:* AttrTrackpointMultiplier=0.4 It is already merged upstream: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/-/merge_requests/680 With this quirk it is as good (or better) as with libinput 1.8.4. Sensitivity feels the same as with 1.8.4 with the same hw settings for speed and sensitivity. -- System Information: Debian Release: 11.0 APT prefers stable-security APT policy: (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-8-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages libinput-bin depends on: ii libc6 2.31-13 ii libevdev2 1.11.0+dfsg-1 ii libudev1 247.3-6 ii libwacom2 1.8-2 libinput-bin recommends no packages. libinput-bin suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
