I am not sure if I missed something, but couldn't find a bug report for
this, although this is a known problem to the package maintainer and
also solved with tomcat6. Debian took over the fix

I checked both yesterday in the evening.

I report this against the linux-image package, because I think the
problem is related to the pcspkr module.
I installed Lenny on a 'Dell Laptop Inspiron 1525 Ubuntu 8.04 Edition'.
The sound is configured with 'options
In my mind it is very sad, that nothing ever happened to this bug report.
This is not a good motivation for users of debian to submit bug reports.
