I tried to render text with GD graphics library (ruby-gd, which
uses libgd3 internally),
I think I should withdraw this report.
This was not a issue with fonts-misaki package - but just happens to
occur only with this package.
Upstream Misaki TTF is provided in two forms:
1. outline-based TTF
2. embedded bitmap-based TTF
GD seems to work only with #1 type TTF, and fails with

Hi Luca,
As an extra check I tried to reproduce the problem in order to confirm the

Hi.
Okay...let me rephrase my previous report to make the point clear.
My concern is that you shouldn't be calling

Because of this, any server configured with fixed IP address could get its

Adding serial 0 9600 made it usable, but I also had to remove
color/layout configuration (stdmenu.cfg) to show complete menu.
As vesamenu.c32 switches display mode to graphical mode, it'd
be better to use menu.c32 (which only uses text mode). However,
you will loose all goodies like splash

So I guess removing --chuid tss from init script solves the issue.
Also, trying to set running uid outside the program is probably
useless, as TSS_USER_NAME is hardcoded to be tss in the source.

I've picked this bug up for deian...@tokyo, and have several comments on how
to fix.
So the requests are:
1. Allow syslog-ng to run on different user/group.
2. Allow syslog-ng to create log file/dir with different user/group,
preferrably same as #1.
3. Change log file location so logrotate
