Package: subversion Version: 1.5.1dfsg1-1 Severity: important [Setting severity to important, because this is some kind of user data corruption that can be hard to detect. BTW, I wonder if the fix should be in lenny.]
This is upstream bug http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=1672 that was fixed a month ago. Quoted from this page: "The basic problem is when a directory has a property. You delete the property and add a file. In a second working copy also create a file of the same name. When you do an update in the second working copy it will fail due to a obstructed update. If you delete the obstructed file and rerun the update the property will not be deleted. If you delete the whole directory and rerun the update then the property goes away." Note that if the user modifies the property in the WC that is out of sync, the commit will NOT fail, and if the user doesn't take care of this bug, the repository may get outdated data. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26.5-20080922 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=POSIX, LC_CTYPE=en_US.ISO8859-1 (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages subversion depends on: ii libapr1 1.2.12-4 The Apache Portable Runtime Librar ii libc6 2.7-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libsasl2-2 2.1.22.dfsg1-23 Cyrus SASL - authentication abstra ii libsvn1 1.5.1dfsg1-1 Shared libraries used by Subversio subversion recommends no packages.
