Several people have been unable to reproduce this issue, including
myself in an amd64 cowbuilder chroot with these installed:
$ dpkg -l|grep libgupnp
ii libgupnp-1.0-30.13.2-1 GObject-based
library for UPnP
ii
Building this package doesn't always fail. It depends on your build
machine's memory and CPU.
Well actually I'm also the upstream author.. :) Building this package
requires insanely HUGE memory and it takes a long time. It's mainly
because it uses a poor algorithm to build combinated words.

installed in a clean sid chroot and there are lintian warnings related
to those messages which I will fix in the next upload. However, the

the past on my amd64 box)
According to upstream this is a bug in dbus-glib that cannot be
initialized inside a thread. Disable network-manager in gupnp could be
a workaround

Apparently it fails because I'm building on tmpfs (it's reproducible by
building in /dev/shm). I'm not aware of anything non-standard in tmpfs
