that process_func_start() is passed
NULL. The fix avoids calling this if the operation has been cancelled,
in which case data_provider_end() will be called, which frees the data.
That's how we get NULL there.

not using portals. We should probably cherry-pick that patch if it's
breaking things. FTR, I doubt this g_critical is causing visible
problems for people at runtime, but an FTBFS fix is justification
enough.

loop entirely due to the empty target, the
parameters are never constructed and we simply skip over dh_autoreconf.
Unless you have a better idea, I think that commit should be reverted.
The loop is still required for empty -arch and -indep targets to
construct the -N options.

Hm, well I /did/ build in sbuild initially (log attached), where
-network was pulled in. Presumably this was some indirect dep that's now
changed. Thanks for the bug though - I'll add this now.
