I already prepare a patch for this problem, but I never found the way to build
it inside pbuilder with the current experimental default-jdk version.
It seems to me that it should be very easy to use experimental inside
cowbuilder/pbuilder... Maybe I did not found the riht documentation.
Thanks
Hello Andreas,
first a big thanks for all your efforts.
Python (indirectly) depends on libssl1.0.0, but that was not yet unpacked
while the
newer python* already got unpacked.
There were also similar problems where python was a dangling symlink and not
usable at all...

Hello,
I filled a bug against python-qt4 for now [1]. As requested by the python-qt4
maintainer, I tryed to reproduce the bug and set up a test case. So I
downgraded libqtwebkit4 to 2.1.0~2011week09-3 [2]
But I could not reproduce the problem on my i386 machine.
Can you confirm that by
libqtwebkit4 (2.1.0~2011week09-3 - 2.1.0~2011week13-2)
ok so the problem is here
that way I should prevent spyder to be installed with the wrong libqtwebkit4
how?
to me python-qt4 must be fixed with the right libqtwebkit4 version like other
libqtxxx libraries
well, it's indeed a bug in
# spyder
loaded the Generic plugin

As you told me on the other bug report 647695
can you give me the version of the python-spyderlib dependencies and Recommends.
If I remember correctly I already saw this sort of segfault.

Hello, can you look at bug 618836 [1]
It seems that it came back... this kind of recurrent bug is a pain.

Ok, upgrading python-qt4, libqtwebkit4 and a bunch of qt4 libs spyder
it's now starting. Anyhow, given it's a recurring problem, and it
seems spyder needs QT4 stuff to work, you might need to tune
yes everythings is in tune :)
My problem is that I do not know which version of python-qt4 is ok
infact I don't think it is: I first upgraded the QT4 stack, and still
segfault, then python-qt4, still segfault, only after upgradng also
libqtwebkit4 the segfault gone away.
do you have the version before and after ?
that way I should prevent spyder to be installed with the wrong libqtwebkit4

Hello,
I find it works on my MIPS box by simply export FFLAGS=-fPIC in

I am wondering if the problem do not comes from f2py and/or maybe from gfortran.
- f2py do not pass the -fPIC flag when building a module. is it right ?
I need to send a mail to the
That may also explain why f2py leaves off -fPIC -- if its developers
still mostly work on 32-bit systems, they might not have run into any
errors stemming from its absence themselves.
Ok do you think I need to fill a bug against python-numpy for this ?
