I've had the same trouble on a full sid system. I tried upgrading to current
sid tortoisehg version (2.0.2-1) on a Squeeze system (with mercurial 1.8.1)
and I have tortoisehg working correctly. So my suspicion is that something
broke in either python-qt4 or qscintilla.
