As of the latest swig4.1.0 , Xdmf FTBFS due to bad code being generated.
Some elements such as SWIGPY_SLICEOBJECT are not defined.
Adding

to /usr/share/swig4.0/python/python.swg fixes this.
This is currently a blocker for the python3.11 transition.
