Package: lilo
Version: 1:22.8-6
Severity: important

Hello,

lilo fails to boot linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64_2.6.26-8_i386, all I get
after lilo's Loading Linux...<more dots> is:

| BIOS data check successful
| Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... ok
|
| Decompressing Linux... Parsing ELF... done.
| Booting the kernel.
|
| Kernel alive

Then the kernel hangs, not even Ctrl-Alt-Del works. The serial console
doesn't show more either.

grub2 from grub-rescue-pc boots the image successfully.

linux-image-2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-amd64_2.6.24-6~etchnhalf.5_i386 as well
as linux-image-2.6.26-1-686-bigmem_2.6.26-8_i386 boot well with the same
lilo.

The images don't differ much in space:
8980175 initrd.img-2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-amd64
9165632 initrd.img-2.6.26-1-686-bigmem
9191952 initrd.img-2.6.26-1-amd64
1670264 vmlinuz-2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-amd64
1547664 vmlinuz-2.6.26-1-686-bigmem
1755088 vmlinuz-2.6.26-1-amd64

My system is an ASUS P5E-V HDMI (Intel G35) with C2D E8400 and 4G RAM.

Thanks for your work & regards
   Mario
