It wasn't available, protobuf was built in those archs because you had
openjdk-6-jdk in Build-Depends-Indep instead of Build-Depends

the current version of protobuf could not be build on some architectures
(namely hppa, hurd and kfreebsd-*) because you build depend on
openjdk-6-jdk, instead you should b-d on default-jdk.
