thanks
This is now fixed upstream.
Has any progress been made on fixing this in unstable in the last
month? This is an RC bug.
Thanks,
Roger

This may well be a regression. See #233969 for the detail

Version: 2.6.21-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software
Hi,
The new libxml (2.6.21-1) breaks xsltproc, which makes a rather large
number of packages fail to build from source. Reverting to 2.6.20-1
fixes this, showing that the new version is the root of
Hi,
This appears to be somewhat arch-dependent. It's definitely a problem
on powerpc, but appears to work on e.g. amd64.
For example, check the pattern of failures (and the logs) here:

autogen.sh needs to be replaced by automake1.9 (and the build-deps
also need updating).
I'll build a copy on powerpc tonight with (1) and (3) fixed, and see
if this helps.
Either way, (2) and (3) need fixing in Ubuntu and Debian, respectively.

showed up on the list. I propose
to remove it.
It has no rdepends anymore, is *really* old and isn't installed very
often.
The last one was removed a week ago (cmucl-source). It's one of the
libc5 compatibility packages, which are already due to be removed
(see #323139).

liblockdev1 and liblockdev1-dbg are uninstallable due to both containing

However, I'm wondering if it would be better to canonicalise all paths
at all times in the main code, to prevent anything like this
reoccuring.

Package: x11-common
Version: 1:7.0.14
Severity: serious
Justification: wmnet package removal breaks X11
wmnet 1.05-12 includes these directories:
$ dpkg -L wmnet | grep ^/usr/X11
/usr/X11R6
/usr/X11R6/bin
/usr/X11R6/man
/usr/X11R6/man/man1
This means removing wmnet removes the /usr/X11R6/bin
it - I'll incorporate the patch and double
check my other packages.
Many thanks.
