In the findutils package, /etc/updatedb.conf could use a small addition. Add /var/spool/news and /var/spool/squid to the PRUNEPATHS variable. In the cron package, /etc/checksecurity.conf needs the same. Add on /var/spool/news | on /var/spool/squid to the CS_DIRS variable. I don't know whether
